About

Get to know Eric

I started Ford Hardwood in 2000 in Denver, Colorado after working with Caywood Flooring in Grand Junction, CO for several years. My work is now entirely in the Denver metro front range area. I enjoy working with hardwood flooring and how wood, different species and their color and wood grain, can change the look of a home.

With every job I am still amazed at how beautiful a home can look from refinishing an old floor. Or by adding new hardwood flooring to other rooms and how that dramatically changes the look of an entire house. There is nothing that compares to the warmth and feel of hardwood flooring. It can be truly lived on for decades.

I take pride in knowing that I have done the best possible job for each home by crafting a hardwood floor that I would be happy to have in my own home. I personally do all the work so I know every detail that has gone into each floor, assuring that you will love your floor for years to come.

I am a Colorado native, born in Denver, raised on the Western Slope. I attended Mesa State College when it was still called Mesa State. I love the outdoors. I race competitive mountain biking and enjoy hiking and camping with my wife, Melissa and our dog Max.

Professional, Personal touch from start to finish

Unlike many "big box" flooring providers, when you work with us Eric is the one to bid the job, sand the flooring, replace damaged boards, and install and finish your floor. You have the peace of mind knowing that every step will be handled expertly for a flawless finish.

And because Eric handles all aspects of your install or refinishing, there are no surprises or unexpected delays. You know who is showing up and when. Eric has already calculated all the materials and setup required to complete your floor on time and to the cost stated on the bid.

"At the end of the day, it's my signature that's on the floor I install. The job has to be one that I would be proud of in my own home when completed. And that means being thoughtful and deliberate with every step to make that floor be as beautiful as it can be."

Get to know Melissa

When Eric and I met he was in Cheyenne, WY working with a new builder as their primary hardwood floor contractor.

We met at a friend's

condo in downtown Denver. I was admiring the hardwood floor when I spilled a drink on this beautiful floor. This guy started helping me clean up and I commented that I didn't want to ruin the floor. He said it was pretty durable and not to worry.

Turns out I was talking to Eric! I learned he had installed that gorgeous hardwood floor, and the job had been particularly challenging logistically!

As with many of his customers I had NO idea the labor and skill needed for installing and refinishing hardwood floors. Over the years I have been on the job sites with Eric helping where I can (it's really detailed, focused and physically demanding). So I primarily help with marketing and business development.

My professional career has always been in sales and business development in different industries. I'm a networker and meet so many people where I'm able to tell people about Ford Hardwood and what a great job Eric does. He finishes a job on time and leaves the home as if it were his own.

We are so grateful for the new and repeat-customers that have supported us all these years; referrals are the life blood of any small business so we too support local businesses when we can.

We believe in giving back and support a few organizations close to our heart, Food Bank of the Rockies, Camp Wapiyapi, and Morgan Adams Foundation in memory of our daughter, Kailey.

We love camping and hiking with Max, our dog, and some mountain biking, (Eric mountain bikes and does Cyclecross racing), I'm more of a flaterland trail rider! I enjoy gardening, reading and COFFEE with friends. We love to entertain and serve New Mexican food!
